Coop's going through another growth spurt, on Monday he started eating for almost an hour at every feeding! He's still eating every 2-3 hours during the day, and anywhere from 3-6 most nights, although the last few nights it's been a little more often due to the growth spurt.
Last week Coop weighed 14 lbs 7 ozs, finally slowing down on the weight gain to about 4 ounces in per week instead of the 8 ounces he had been gaining. Today when I had him weighed though, he was all the way up to 15 lbs 3 ozs, no question about the growth spurt after that!
Coop's doing great holding up his head nice & steady, and pushing himself up when he's on his tummy. He's rolling great from his tummy to his back (Nick finally got to see it over the weekend!), and seems like he's trying to roll the other way now too. It's funny, he pulls his feet up into the air, then rocks back & forth, spinning himself. We set him down on his play mat in one direction, and the next time we turn around, he's turned 90 degrees. Now he's starting to pull his legs up the same way, but is rolling onto his side. It's only a matter of time before he'll roll on to his tummy, then we won't be able to put him down & expect him to stay put! :)
Coop loves to "talk," and is getting quite vocal. Lately he's starting talking while he's eating sometimes too, which is pretty funny.
We always have "exercise time" after changing his diaper, pulling him into a sitting position, then up onto his feet. He's getting much more steady & stronger pushing himself into a standing position, and loves his exercise time. Today I had him sitting on the floor with minimal support & he was sitting up really well without just folding forward. Maybe he'll be sitting on his own soon!
According to the milestone chart, Coop is doing great. He's doing all the skills for three months (mastered, emerging, and advanced!), all the "mastered" skills for four months, and a couple of the emerging skills. Yay Coop! :)
We are still going for almost nightly walks. While it was nicer, occasionally Nick would take Coop in the carrier instead of using the stroller. Coop loved it as long as he was facing out. One night we switched him to face towards Nick because the wind was chilly, but Coop hated it & was happy as soon as we turned him back around. It's gotten too chilly for that now though, in fact we had to put the cover on the car seat in the stroller for the first time tonight. It kept him nice & warm, so will be perfect this winter.
I'm still working on the quilt I started for Coop last winter. It's coming along, but still going to take a bit to finish up since I'm hand quilting it. My goal at this point is just to have it finished up no later than his first birthday, but hopefully it won't really take that long.
I'm also working on a knit hat for Coop. Technically I got the hat done, but it's too big so I'm making a smaller one for him. I'll hold on to this one though since he's growing & it'll fit him eventually.
I was supposed to be working part time from home by now, but if you haven't already heard, my company didn't take me back when I was supposed to start. It's been great being home with Coop still, and I'm not looking forward to working when I do find something. It's just starting to get to the point that I can really get some stuff done during the day, which is nice, and I guess I'm glad that I can work on stuff around the house rather than working. :)
Next week we're headed up to Minneapolis for Thanksgiving, so hopefully Coop will get to meet all the extended family. Of course we're excited to see everybody, and I'm looking forward to Black Friday shopping! :)
Until next time...
