Teething

Coop is officially teething!  We've had people asking (and insisting...) if Coop is teething for months since he likes to chew on his hands (and everything else, for that matter) so much.  I always just laugh & say that if he is, he has been since he was only a month or two old.  Now he definitely is!  Last Sunday I noticed that he had a couple little spots on his lower gums, and on Monday I was able to feel one little sharp point if I pressed on his gums.  Now I can feel both front bottom teeth coming in.

He's been pretty good, although a little more fussy than normal the last 1.5-2 weeks, and I thought this might be why.  Wednesday he was pretty fussy & not very interested in eating or napping all day.  Yesterday he was really fussy, lots of crying (with real tears - breaks my heart!), not napping for more than about 30-45 minutes, and running a low fever, but thankfully he was eating great.  When Nick got home from work I was getting ready to put him to bed, but let them sit together for a while first so Nick could get some time with Coop.  Usually Coop doesn't sit still for anything, he always has to be moving, reaching for something, & looking around, but he just sat nice & still in Nick's lap for almost an hour.  He definitely wasn't feeling like himself!  We both agreed it was kind of nice to have him sitting so calm & kind of snuggly, but at the same time not since we knew it was because he wasn't feeling well.  Coop went to bed at 6:00, and didn't get up until 5:45 this morning, his best night sleep yet!  He's still not quite himself today, but definitely feeling better than yesterday (his fever was gone by the time I went to bed last night), so hopefully he keeps feeling better.

I'll have the usual monthly update next week, can you believe he's almost 6 months old already?!

Until next time...
